Sequel to "Hancock" acquirers writers

According to an article at The Hollywood Reporter's website, Adam Fierro and Glen Mazzara have been hired to work on the follow up to the 2008 box-office giant. The pair, whose work includes such television shows as "24" and "The Shield", will be working closely with Will Smith and director Peter Berg. There is no set date for a production start, but if the script is being worked on, we may see the return of the reformed alcoholic superhero sometime in 2011.

While the idea of a sequel still fills me with as much excitement as filling my gas tank, the credits that Fierro and Mazzara bring with them does give me a little more hope. If they can make the sequel be more like the first half-hour of the original, they may have something worthwhile on their hands.
